22 Feb FOUREYES ON THIS WEEK #20
ALEX – We were lucky enough to attend Dîner en Blanc again this year and again, it was definitely a night to remember. The location is kept secret from the picnic goers and there was a lot of speculation about where it might be – it turned out to be one of our favourite precincts, Britomart. A huge thank you to G.H. Mumm for inviting us to celebrate Auckland’s second Dîner en Blanc with amazing food, company and of course champagne.
CHIN – The first day of Chinese New Year happened this week. I got to spend it with my family, over ate, played mah jong, ate some more and got given red packets. All in all it was a typical Chinese New Year. Some traditions are worth keeping.
DANNY – One of the best recent additions to Auckland’s shopping scene has been The Shelter in Mackelvie Street. This week they launched Margiela’s MM6 line so we went along to have a look. It’s just the latest addition to an already impressive and nicely curated line up of international and local designers they stock. The space itself is really beautiful too. It’s really nice to see Auckland getting more of these kinds of stores that have a distinctive range and vision. Go check it out.
MINO – On Thursday night we attended Britomart’s 10 year anniversary and we must say, the Britomart Group sure knows how to throw a party. The event was in Takutai square which was transformed into a magical space with the biggest marquee we have ever seen, fairy lights, an oyster bar, amazing hors d’oeuvres, a live band and an open bar. We cant believe it has been 10 years but keep up the exceptional work Britomart.
